Baptiste Cousin 'Marie Rose' 2017

$ 38.00

Why do people bottle pink wine in dark glass?  So silly… anywhosen, Baptiste Cousin is the son of the infamous Olivier Cousin, lord of gigunda horses and Cab Franc brettasauruses.  As his father has entered that semi-retirement thing French people love to do, focusing on just his beloved Cabernet Franc and a little Gamay, Cousin the younger has started cultivating 3.5 hectares of parcels shaved off the family domaine.  He calls his own domaine La Batossay and he’s already established a following thanks to his whimsical wines. This is Grolleau Gris, a rare pink-skinned mutation of the more common Grolleau. Like Baptiste’s other vinous creations, ‘Marie Rose’ is truly pure and though it flirts with madness it never gets to that freaked out place.  This is for those of you that dig the mineral, dig the cerebral, dig the subtly textural but like to get your drank on too…
