Most people think of the white wines of San Gimignano when they hear vernaccia.  But this is definitely not that!  The term vernaccia actually derives from the base root of the word vernacular, so refers to the local grape of many regions.  This particular version is made from the northern part of the Marche region and the grapes are partially dried before fermentation.  Try it with a spicy seafood stew…
